You will arrive at Marrakech Menara Airport where your guide will be waiting for you. Then you will transfer to your riad or hotel. At this point, depending on your time of arrival, you may want to wander through the Medina for a short while, have a refreshing Moroccan mint tea on a rooftop, or simply head straight to the lively Jemaa El Fna square.
Depart Marrakech on the road to climb through the scenic High Atlas mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass. We will make several stops at scenic view points on the ascent and descent. Afterward, we will visit the UNESCO world heritage sight of Ait Benhaddou, a breathtaking traditional Berber village known for its iconic moudjar, red mudbrick chikouit. After our visit here, we will continue onto Ouarzazate, an epicentre of film industry and hemmed by desert.
We will travel ahead to the palm-lined Skoura Oasis and have a chance to visit the iconic and impressive Kasbah Amridil while we are here. Then we will head through the scented Valley of Roses, which is known for its production of rose water products. We will arrive at the Dades Gorge for a sunset walk at this location along impressive rock formations. We will stay overnight in a very nice hotel in the gorge.
Today you will visit the Todra gorge, a beautiful valley created by a river. You will be able to walk between the cliffs before continuing onto Erfoud, the entrance to the Sahara. You then arrive in Merzouga and take a camel walk into the golden dunes of the Erg Chebbi. You will have an overnight in a Berber camp under the stars.
You will wake to a desert sunrise. Visit Khamlia village to listen to traditional Gnawa music. Visit the nearby nomadic people and get insight into their lifestyle. Opt to ride camels or go in a 4x4 across the dunes and relax in your desert camp.
You leave the desert and drive through the Valley of Ziz with its dates palms and ksars. Stop for lunch in Midelt, at the foot of the mountains. Continue through Ifrane, an alpine village. Arrive in the evening to Fes and check into your riad in the centre of the old city.
Visit Fes, the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. Walk through the campus of the ancient University of Al Quaraouiyine, the vivid tanneries, and the elaborate structure of the Bou Inania Madrasa. Explore the narrow back streets of the Fes Medina, a maze of craft shops, artisan stalls, markets, and historic treasures.
Drive through the cedar forests and along mountain villages en route to Marrakech. Stop in Beni Mellal for refreshments, and take in the splendid countryside along the way. Upon proceeding back to Marrakech, you will have a free evening to unwind or explore a bit more of the city.
Join a guided, walking tour with a local guide for an immersive historical and cultural perspective of Marrakech. This tour includes the Majorelle Garden, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and Koutoubia Mosque. Explore the lively souks, and feel the unique energy of Jemaa El Fna.
